The 1024ºË¹¤³§ Football Club Partnership Scholarship is a financial scholarship of £9,000 over the three years of a full-time undergraduate taught level study. It is available to students who are applying to the 1024ºË¹¤³§ in 2024.
The following terms and conditions apply to the scholarship:
1. Eligible students
1.1 The financial scholarship is a £9,000 contribution fee payable over three years. It is open to students who meet all of the following criteria:
- Live in 1024ºË¹¤³§, the surrounding area (PO postcode) or the Isle of Wight
- They are under 25 at the start of their course
- They are studying their first full-time undergraduate degree
- Apply to study a full-time undergraduate course, starting in September 2024
- Firmly accept an offer from the University to study a full-time eligible undergraduate course, starting in Sept 2024
- UK students only for fee purposes*
- Meet one of these criteria:
- You are the first in your family to go to university or:
- have a household income of £35,000 or below
1.2 There is a limited number of scholarships, so student eligibility does not guarantee that students will receive an award. Students will need to apply for the scholarship and successful applicants will be selected by a scholarship panel.
2. Eligible courses
2.1 Full-time campus-based undergraduate courses, not including distance learning courses.
2.2 Students awarded the scholarship will receive a £3,000 scholarship in the first year, £3,000 in their second year and £3000 in their third year.
2.3 Scholarship payments will not be made when students are on a placement year or a year abroad.
2.4 The list of eligible courses is subject to approval, modifications, closure and suspensions.
3. Academic and income criteria
3.1 Applicants must also meet specific course entry criteria for their course.
3.2 The household income is assessed using Student Finance England (SFE) criteria for 2022/23.
4. Application process
4.1 Applicants will need to complete the scholarship application form in order to be considered.
4.2 As part of scholarship application, students will need to provide a short statement demonstrating how studying at the 1024ºË¹¤³§ and being awarded the 1024ºË¹¤³§ Football Club Partnership scholarship will prepare them for their future.
4.3 Decisions on the award of the scholarship will be made by a scholarship panel in July 2023. Decisions will be based on the eligibility criteria, academic achievements and the scholarship application.
4.4 The panel’s decision is final and the panel shall not be obliged to provide reasons for their decisions.
4.5 Applicants will not be notified if they are not successful in being awarded the scholarship.
5. Timescales
5.1 Successful applicants will be notified by 6 August 2024. They will need to firmly accept a place on their course.
6. Operational terms and conditions
6.1 Scholarships will be made to successful eligible students on eligible courses, subject to the availability of limited awards.
6.2 Scholarships are subject to applicants receiving an offer and accepting a place at the University on an eligible Undergraduate course commencing in September 2024.
6.3 Students who defer their place to September 2025 or later will not be eligible for the scholarship.
6.4 The £9,000 scholarship will can contribute towards the course tuition fee and be administered by Student Finance.
6.5 Successful applicants will be required to ‘fully register’ onto their course to remain eligible for the scholarship. This entails completing the online registration form and providing original evidence of their personal identity within the first week of the start date of the course, and paying the residual balance of any fees. Any extension to become fully registered onto the course will need to be requested through the late registration process. If this does not happen students will become ineligible to receive the scholarship.
6.6 Students who suspend their studies will become ineligible for the scholarship in future years of study, no extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.
6.7 Students who transfer to an ineligible full-time course will become ineligible for the scholarship. The tuition fee due for the remaining fee liability periods will be payable by the students.
6.8 Students who withdraw, transfer or suspend from their studies will have their tuition fee calculated in accordance with the Tuition Fee Policy fee liability periods. The new tuition fee, and any refund due, will be made in accordance with the Tuition Fee Policy, whereby the proportion is made to the original split between self-payer and sponsor (1024ºË¹¤³§ Football Club).
6.9 Applicants who receive the 1024ºË¹¤³§ Football Club Partnership Scholarship will not be eligible to receive other fee discounts but will still be entitled to apply for student loans, bursaries and scholarships, subject to their eligibility.
6.10 The University’s decision on the allocation of the scholarship in accordance with these terms and conditions is final. There is no appeals process.
