What is an MD (Doctor of Medicine)?

An MD is a programme for medical professionals to obtain a research degree. To do an MD, you need to hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent.

During your MD, you'll do research that draws on your clinical expertise. Your research may involve clinical trials, epidemiology, laboratory-based research, systematic review, social science or qualitative methodologies.

You can take up to 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time to complete your MD.
