Enhancing physical performance assessments

Location: Spinnaker Building

Our Physiology Laboratory is used for practical work by students on courses including BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Psychology and MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology.

The lab is used by undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers to explore physiological responses to exercise.

Equipment and amenities

The Physiology Laboratory has equipment and facilities including:

  • Treadmills
  • Cycling, rowing and arm crank ergometers
  • Physiological monitoring kit including multiple metabolic carts (stationary and portable), and equipment to analyse blood (lactate, glucose, haemoglobin, whole blood), blood pressure, urine, body composition, spirometry and heart rate
