Who doesn’t like grabbing their favourite snack while rushing to a class? Or munching on a tasty treat during lunch break? The University has cafés and canteens throughout most of the bigger buildings.
Here are my top 5 favourite go-to cafes on campus:
- The Hub Café at the Dennis Sciama Building: during my long lectures in Dennis Sciama and Burnaby buildings, my classmates and I would often grab some quick and delicious English breakfasts or sausages and eggs - which are my personal favourites from this café! It is a must try if you love a light yet yummy and filling breakfast.
- Portland Coffee Shop: although not as spacious as the Hub Café, the Portland building café would be my go-to place for quick hot chocolates and coffee breaks with a sausage roll during my afternoon classes.
- Ravelin Sports Centre Café: one of the best places on campus for a wide range of cake or pastry options. I would often pick up my favourite chocolate treat there. This one is perfect if you have a sweet tooth.
- Library Coffee Shop: reading is even more fun with some nice tea, a tasty sausage roll, and delicious fruits by your side. The Library Coffee Shop is open until 8.00pm to help you stay fed during study sessions. It is a favourite of frequent library users!
- The Terrace Café: this café has recently been renamed from Café Coco to the Terrace Café. With the new name, it also got a new look and a thorough refurbishment. It’s a great space to have your meals anytime you’re around the area with options for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
There are other cafés in the University in big buildings. All of them are nice a welcoming and a good spot for studying alone or in a group in a relaxed atmosphere. All the cafes in the University offer a loyalty scheme with your student ID that can get you discounts and freebies. So don’t miss out and claim yours!
