Welcome! Here's your intro to the event and what's coming up, from a member of our University Executive Board at the 1024ºË¹¤³§, including updates on Connected Degrees at 1024ºË¹¤³§, where your students can customise their university experience by choosing to get the benefits of a placement year when they’re ready.

Students are making different decisions on their future now, and we know many are facing more barriers to higher education than ever.

The Student Room will help you explore the drivers behind student decision making this year, the obstacles they might be facing and reasons they might feel university isn't for them, and what we as advisers and universities can do to support them to overcome those challenges.

  • Environment, Geography and Geosciences: Explore Environment, Geography, and Geosciences courses and visit facilities like our electron microscopy units and environmental chemistry labs to learn about the practical applications of degrees and the exciting career paths for your students.

We'll highlight the unique perspectives and skills that each of our courses offer, how they can help students navigate the complex issues facing society today and the careers they can go onto.

  • Journalism, Film and Media: Tour our Eldon Building, where you'll explore the studios, production facilities, and other resources available to film, media, and journalism students at 1024ºË¹¤³§.

  • Sport Science: Learn about different courses offered in our Sport programmes, before visiting facilities like our ‘extreme’ laboratories, where you'll learn about the cutting-edge research and technologies that are used by students to enhance athletic performance.

  • Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality: Explore our home of creative arts, media and technologies and see our Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality – the UK’s first integrated facility with a full suite of extended reality technologies.

  • Creative Technologies: Go on a tour of our innovative School of Creative Technologies to discover the diverse range of creative courses available to students and our exceptional facilities, including newsroom, 3D workshops, print workshops, VR labs, video editing suites, and music studios

  • English Literature: Discover one of the most versatile degrees at university, and take a look at the project activities your students could undertake, including designing and managing an annual literary prize.

  • Health Care Professionals: Learn about Paramedic Science, Operating Department Practice, Nursing and other health programmes at 1024ºË¹¤³§, before touring our St Andrews Court Simulation Centre, where students refine their skills for the future.

  • Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Biomedical Science: See how students studying Pharmacology, Pharmacy, and Biomedical Science are learning how to improve the lives of patients, and explore placement opportunities and modules your students can study.

The rising cost of living has presented challenges for many individuals and families, including those pursuing higher education.

Our expert Student Finance Team will deliver an update on the current support available to students (including the bursaries and scholarships available at 1024ºË¹¤³§), and key messages that we as advisers can use to reassure students that HE remains an affordable option and a valuable investment in their future success.
