Dr Michelle Juchau
Summary
As the Programme Leader for Learning at Work at the 1024ºË¹¤³§ I lead, develop and drive our portfolio of courses enabling those already in employment to gain both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications whilst remaining at work. My focus is on quality of provision and developing adaptable and flexible opportunities for gaining learning which supports career advancement and lifelong learning.
I am currently completing a PhD exploring the learning gain achieved by students studying an individually negotiated curriculum within the workplace. My research specifically looks at the impact of the learning gain from the perspective of the student, employer and the University.
I have a degree in Environmental Engineering and postgraduate qualifications in teaching and Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Prior to joining the University, I was a HM Inspector of Health and Safety and a Health and Safety Manager focusing on employee wellbeing within the private sector.
I am a Chartered Safety and Health practitioner (CMIOSH) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) currently working towards Senior Fellow.
I coordinate and teach distance learning modules in occupational Health and safety management and sustainability.
